Elvis is Still in the Building
People often think that Christianity is irrelevant. Some people are still Jesusian Christians, and that can be for them a way to bond with other people, but most people think that Christianity is an anthropocentric fantasy, not at all a correct philosophy and not relevant to their lives. What these people are not understanding is that Christianity rules--the fundamental property of the way they live their lives, the governance of their societies, the taxes they pay at least every year or sometimes more often, are Christian. Christianity rules. It is not old, it is not outdated, it is not just a way people used to think in the past, and so on. It is right now.
Confusion can arise because people think that Christianity is about believing that a first century rabbi was an omnipotent, invisible creator. That character is famous; he is known as Jesus. Specifically saying you believe in, like, etc. him is Jesusian Christianity. Jesusian Christianity often seems to be the only form of Christianity, but that is not true. That is just one of the masks worn by Christianity. Do not be deceived.
Christianity is not about Jesus. Think about Jesus’ name: Jesus Christ. What does “christ” mean? Savior. It is like if he were named Jesus Savior. From what is Jesus saving you? Reality. That is why people who say they like/support/believe in Jesus claim to use faith to do that. “Faith” means believing things without evidence, specifically in this case things like that there was a Jesus.
(You can try out faith in other ways. Find a wall, and have faith that you can walk through it. When you are done walking into walls, you can think more about what faith is.)
So, Jesus Savior. What is Christianity really, if not just about Jesus? This is hard to understand, because there has been a popular false dichotomy created between Jesusianism and other forms of Saviority (Christianity). These have been very effective false dichotomies and continue to trick many people. The way the trick works is to make part of Christianity (Saviority!) seem to be against another part of it. For example, if you have a consortium of robbing thugs including Billy and Steve, and move into town and begin robbing people, you can make it seem that Billy is the true robber and Steve is the hero who fights off Billy and protects the people. You end up with Steve looking like a heroic defender and Billy looking like an evil exploiter. In fact, though, both Billy and Steve work for the same consortium of robbing thugs! It is very wrong to think that Steve is a good person for you! The reason that the trick has worked in so many places is that people can spend their whole lives protecting themselves from Billy, getting ready to fight Billy, training in anti-Billy martial arts, etc. This is one of the ways that Saviority (Christianity) has survived! Like Billy, making Jesus out to be an icon of timeless goodness; of old-fashioned niceness.
Not true. “Christianity” in all its forms is truly about the rejection of matter; the claim that you should try to be “saved” from matter; the argument that matter is not important. That is why modern Christians (Bangists) have been lured into supporting policies that destroy the societies in which they live; letting people join their society who are vociferous about destroying that society and making it into a place like their own society which the Bangist does not like (think about someone from France saying that Algerians should move to France and be part of France). Deep down, in a way that they don’t themselves recognize, those modern Christians believe that matter is a thing to reject. They are Christians even though they don’t subscribe to a particular anthropomorphic fantasy involving a rabbi named Jesus: they reject matter. The ideas that a person’s sex is not important and can be transcended, and that mutually orgasmic non-reproductive relationships/behavior should be treated just the same as reproductive-type relationships/behavior, is not Jesusian, but is almost literally Christian: it is an expression of how matter is not important. The realities of matter—making babies, raping females, or throwing people off buildingtops—do not matter to Christians. In the way that happens with matter not mattering to Christians, it is just an effective way for Decay to break up societies.
